I’m not going to give you a list of every restaurant in town. No, instead I’m going to give you a short list of restaurants I like, the places you should eat at. I’m sure there are other places that other people love and if I missed your favorite let me know and I’ll check it out. But if you’re coming in for the weekend and not sure where to eat these options will be your best bets, the places that rarely if ever disappoint.
I’m also giving you a list of wineries that offer exceptional food options, food that goes beyond the standard “cheese plate”. You’re on vacation, don’t waste time going to the supermarket to try to piece together a picnic. Instead just time your lunch stop to be at one of these wineries who offer great food and you’ll be experiencing Paso like a boss.

Relaxed Yet Refined Setting
Some of the most creative and lovingly prepared craft cocktails I’ve had anywhere. Add to this an unimposing menu of share-ables and entrees all executed to the same high level and you’ve found my favorite hang out.
Try the fries with housemade goat cheese ranch, entrees like sea bass with yellow coconut curry, prices range from $20 to $40.

Della’s Woodfired Pizza
Best Pizza in Town
Gourmet wood fired pizza with creative craft cocktails (with three fancy gin & tonic options) served in a mid century modern setting. This isn’t a pizza joint, it’s an elevated experience owned by the same couple behind The Hatch.
Awesome appetizers and full entrees too. Pizzas and pastas around mid-$20’s, entrees like wood roasted bass or NY steak $40 to $50’s.

Finca Paso Robles
Casual Baja Seafood and Grilled Tacos
Baja style tacos and Mexican food in an ultra casual setting, you don’t need to go fancy to eat well in Paso if you dine at Finca. Housed in an old farmhouse on Paso Market Walk, Finca comes with great credentials - their other restaurant in Napa has been in the Michelin guide and the owners have ties to top chefs like Thomas Keller. Tacos around $7 to $8, burritos $15, top notch cheap eats.

White Tablecloth Dining
Upscale Italian fare in a white tablecloth setting, menu features dishes such as housemade pastas, braised osso bucco and grilled seafood. Cocktails are so-so, stick with the wine. Prices for pasta in the $30’s, meat dishes in the $50’s with the veal chop topping $70.

Urban Eatery, Upscale Comfort Food
If you only have time in town for one dinner then don’t overthink this and head straight to The Hatch. This comfort food stop is to Paso Robles what Mustard Grill is to Napa, classic foods like fried chicken or rotisserie chicken served with creative craft cocktails. Recognized (hello there) by the Michelin Guide (and now Local Wally), prices for dinner entrees average $30.
