And there are plenty of Paso Robles wineries who will waive your tasting fees with a two bottle purchase so don’t forget to ask when making reservations.

what would wally do? Let’s put it all together in a two day itinerary

Everyone has their own ideas of what they are looking for in a winery but the following itinerary works for me and maxes out the savings on the Priority Wine Pass. Pull out your calculators and lets do some math.

DAY 1 (map): McPrice Meyers to start because I really like this winery, save $25. Now take a long scenic drive - give yourself time and enjoy the journey. I would to to Opolo next because while their wines are good enough but their pizza is the bomb. Save $30 there. I’m going to squeeze in two more wineries and I like AronHill for their view, save $20, and Castoro is just fun, save $20. Of course you could also skip AronHill and go to Castoro and then play some Disc Golf (aka Frisbee Golf) which requires minimal skill to have fun.

DAY 2 (map): Wine tasting at the old train depot is irresistible to me so Cypher is stop 1, save $30. Then free wine is on the agenda, Eberle is stop 2. Sculptera is too cool to miss, two for one saves another $20. Finish at Dresser for a bit of luxury, another $30 to keep in your wallet. Later in the evening perhaps a stop in at Serial since they’re open late?

IS THE WINE PASS WORTH IT?

LET’S DO THE MATH: Cost of pass, $39. Savings on Day 1 is $95. Savings on Day 2 is $80. Net savings is $136.

Verdict: Worth It! Really Worth It! Look, I know you get excited when you win a dollar on a scratcher so how do you think you’re going to feel saving over a hundred bucks just by showing your wine pass? I like it a lot!
